Handstand is one of the most interesting subjects for me dissect and teach. I love to go into detail about what if feels like to balance on your hands. It feels like weightlessness in your legs and the exact opposite of weightlessness, a heavy load on your armpit, shoulders and wrists. Mastering handstand is not just about conditioning and drills. Mastering handstand is also about relating the handstand sensations to other more subtle and attainable sensations, which is critical in the mental and psychological aspect of the skill.

  • This is a 6 part course. 45 min sessions.

  • You will have unlimited playback until May 15th 2020.

  • Students will need props for this class, including: 2 yoga blocks, a foam roller, a light and a medium resistance theraband, a chair and a sturdy wall.

  • It is not necessary that you are able to hold handstand without a wall coming into this course, however this class is aimed at those students who already possess a baseline of upper body, core and back strength. If handstand still feels like a far off dream, this class is probably not (yet) for you.

  • Expect to train lots of different types of inversions, not just handstands. Inversions like headstand and forearm stand will make an occasional appearance.
